How to Make Caramel Apples

Caramel apples are easy-to-make fall sweet essentials! Because you only need a few ingredients and your favorite toppings of choice, it'll make a great and tasty activity for the kids after some family fun at Apple Picking!

What you need:

  • Caramel apple sticks
  • Caramel candy (1 bag or more)
  • Apples
  • Heavy Cream (3 tablespoons, adjust as necessary)
  • Toppings of choice!

Directions:

  • Prepare the apples by rinsing and drying with a paper towel, then, insert a caramel apple stick into the center of each apple.
  • Line a baking sheet or baking dish with a sheet of parchment paper. Spray paper with a non-stick cooking spray, then let it set in the fridge.
  • Prepare toppings now (if desired) placing the toppings in separate bowls or plates.
  • Add caramels and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl, then heat in the microwave in 30-second increments until melted and smooth, stirring in between (about 2 minutes). Let cool if too runny.
  • Dip apples in caramel one at a time, rotating the apple to coat the apple fully. Lift apple, and let excess caramel runoff 
  • Roll the caramel-coated apples into your desired toppings before caramel sets. 
  • Place finished apple upright onto the prepared baking sheet in the fridge. Repeat with remaining apples!
  • Allow caramel to set in the fridge, for about 30 minutes.
