“GINGERBREAD MADNESS” CONTEST - 2024

We are excited to kick off the holiday season with our annual gingerbread house decorating competition. Show us a photo of your creative gingerbread house on social media for a chance to win a $200 Market Basket gift card! 

The deadline for entries is Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:59pm. Market Basket will select finalists and the public will vote for their favorites in daily polls on Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories. Voting begins on Monday, December 9th at 12pm! See below for prizes and how to enter.

Participants who enter this years contest but are not chosen as a finalist will still be entered into this drawing. 2. Make a gingerbread house! Options:
   • We suggest using an undecorated gingerbread house from Market Basket’s Bakery.
   • However, you could use any gingerbread house kit.
   • You could also make a gingerbread house from scratch!
3. On your own Instagram account, post a photo* of your creation next to a hand-written note that reads “GingerbreadMadness 2024”. Please do not include people or pets in the shot. Make sure your profile is public so that we can see.
4. Tag us (@MarketBasket) on the photo, and use the hashtag #GingerbreadMadness in your caption.

*There is no limit to how many entries you can post! We are judging by quality, so put your best creations forward. Please note that only 1 photo submission will be chosen per entrant for voting – please include all gingerbread creations in 1 photo if entering multiple gingerbread houses, otherwise only 1 photo will be selected for the contest polls.

Market Basket will select 16 finalists* to compete in our Instagram Story Polls beginning December 9th. These finalists will be contacted via direct message on Instagram if chosen. (*In the event that the contest receives fewer than 16 valid submissions, the contest will run with 8 selected finalists.)

Submission period runs from November 23, 2024 (10am ET) - December 3, 2024 (11:59pm ET). This contest is open to legal residents of MA, ME, NH, VT, RI, or CT. Photos must be submitted by participants who are 18+ years old at the time of entry, but individuals under 18 years old are encouraged to help make the gingerbread house. CONTEST VOTING

The Gingerbread Madness Contest will be hosted on Market Basket’s Facebook and Instagram, as separate competitions on each platform. Customers are welcome to submit their entries to both Facebook and Instagram, however, if selected for the contest, the chosen entry will only be considered for 1 of the contests (either Facebook or Instagram, at Market Basket’s discretion) – no submissions will be accepted to compete in both contests. Entries will be collected until December 3, 2024 (11:59pm ET). A team of judges from the Market Basket Social Media Team will review all Gingerbread Madness entries and select the finalists to compete on each platform:

• There will be 16 entries selected to compete in the Facebook Gingerbread Madness Polls
• There will be 16 entries selected to compete in the Instagram Gingerbread Madness Polls

In the event that either contest receives fewer than 16 valid submissions, the contest will run with 8 selected finalists.

Participants who are chosen as a finalist will be notified via private message, either on Facebook or Instagram (depending on the platform the submission was chosen for). Voting will begin on Monday, December 9th at 12pm on both Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories. First and Second Place Winners will be determined by the popular vote at noon on Saturday, December 14th.

All Gingerbread Madness participants who submit an entry within the entry period will be entered into a raffle to win a $50 Market Basket gift card. There will be 1 winner randomly chosen from all Instagram participants and 1 winner randomly chosen from all Facebook participants. Participants who enter this years contest but are not chosen as a finalist will still be entered into this drawing. Participants who enter on both Facebook and Instagram will be entered into both drawings. The 16 selected Facebook entries will face off in pairs over 5 days of voting until a Champion (First Place) and Runner Up (Second Place) are determined. Facebook Polls will go live at noon each day on Facebook Story. Each poll will be live for 24 hours. The entry with the most votes at the end of the 24/hr poll will win the round and move on to the next round of voting.

• Day 1, December 9: The first 8 entries will compete in 4 polls

1. PROMOTION DESCRIPTION: The MARKET BASKET “GINGERBREAD MADNESS” CONTEST ("Contest") begins on November 23, 2024 at 10:00am ET and submissions close on December 3, 2024 at 11:59pm ET (the "Promotion Period"). The sponsor of this Contest is DEMOULAS SUPER MARKETS INC. ("Sponsor"). This promotion is not affiliated with Instagram, Facebook, Threads, or X/Twitter. By participating in the Contest, each Entrant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsor is responsible for the collection, submission or processing of Entries and the overall administration of the Contest.    Only one (1) prize per person and per household will be awarded. Gift cards and gift certificates are subject to the terms and conditions of the issuer. Prizes cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash or substituted by the winners. Restrictions, conditions, and limitations may apply. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prize items. This Contest is open to legal residents of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut and Prizes will only be awarded to addresses within said locations.    Automated or robotic Entries submitted by individuals or organizations will be disqualified. Internet entry must be made by the Entrant. Any attempt by an Entrant to obtain more than the stated number of Entries by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins or any other methods, including, but not limited to, commercial contest/sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering services, will void Entrant's Entries and that Entrant may be disqualified. Final eligibility for the award of any prize is subject to eligibility verification as set forth below. All Entries must be posted by the end of the Promotion Period in order to participate. 5. WINNER SELECTION: Market Basket will judge submission photos and select finalists for public polling from among all eligible Entries received throughout the Promotion Period, which closes December 3, 2024 (11:59pm ET). A team of judges from the Market Basket Social Media Team will review all Gingerbread Madness entries and select the 16 finalists to compete on each platform. In the event that either contest receives fewer than 16 valid submissions, the contest will run with 8 selected finalists. The judging will be conducted within three (3) business days of the end of the Promotion Period by Sponsor or its designated representatives, whose decisions are final. The First Place and Second Place winners will be determined by the public on social media polls, via Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories. Market Basket has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the contest, to void entries for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by contest rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering. The entry must come from a person's individual account and not a meme, community, company, or product account. The company reserves at its sole discretion the right to choose an alternative qualifier in the event that that a qualifier has been disqualified or is deemed ineligible.    All 2024 Gingerbread Madness participants who submit an entry within the Promotion Period will be entered into a raffle to win a $50 Market Basket gift card. The random drawing for the $50 Market Basket gift card will be conducted on December 13, 2024 by Administrator or its designated representatives, whose decisions are final. Odds of winning will vary depending on the number of eligible Entries received. Market Basket has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the contest, to void entries for any reason. The company reserves at its sole discretion the right to choose an alternative qualifier in the event that a qualifier has been disqualified or is deemed ineligible. The company will not accept screenshots or other evidence of winning in lieu of its validation process. 
    
6. WINNER NOTIFICATION: Gingerbread Madness Contest Winners (First Place and Second Place) will be notified by direct message on Instagram or Facebook, sent to the account holder of the profile used to enter, within three (3) business days after they are determined in the polls. Potential winners must accept the prize by Instagram or Facebook direct message as instructed by Sponsor within 24 hours of notification. Sponsor is not responsible for any delay or failure to receive notification for any reason, including inactive email account(s), technical difficulties associated therewith, or winner’s failure to adequately monitor any email, Facebook, or Instagram account.
   
   The $50 Market Basket Gift Card Raffle Winners will be notified on December 13, 2024 via Instagram or Facebook direct message by Market Basket, sent to the Entrants’ profile used for entry. Potential winner must provide their information (residential address, legal name, and date of birth) within 24 hours of being notified to claim their prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any delay or failure to receive notification for any reason, including inactive email account(s), technical difficulties associated therewith, or winners’ failure to adequately monitor any email or Instagram messages. Failure to claim a prize within 24 hours of notification will result in forfeiture of the prize.

8. TAMPERING WITH CONTEST: Entrants found tampering with or abusing any aspect of this Contest, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be in violation of criminal and/or civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
    
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: By entering you agree to release and hold harmless Market Basket and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not (“Released Parties”). Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty or failed electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Contest; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, camera, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Contest; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of any network or wireless service, the Internet or website or any combination thereof; (e) suspended or discontinued Internet, wireless or landline phone service; (f) any injury or damage to participant's or to any other person’s computer or mobile device which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Contest or download of any materials in the Contest; or (g) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned for reasons which may include without limitation, infection by computer virus, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Contest, the Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest in whole or in part.
